Why a 15-minute phone call threatens Saudi Arabia's decades-old alliance with US
Mon Nov 4, 2013
It has been a marriage of economic convenience. As the article points out the Saudi people despise the US. In terms of atrocities committed, Saudi Arabia tops the list in just about every category. They can drink their oil.
Armed robber surrenders after seizing hostages at CVS store, shooting at cops
Fri Oct 25, 2013
What point? Trinka's comment had little to do with your rant about another post that was irrelevant to what you posted.
Roma couple explains their side of mystery girl story
Wed Oct 23, 2013
The Roma have been persecuted in Europe for centuries, stemming from overt racism, and this story just demonstrates that this persecution continues unabated. People like to denigrate the Roma by calling them lazy, thieves, tricksters, and have even developed a collection of lore about what the "Gyps …
Passing the buck: What would happen if greenbacks weren't top dollar?
Sun Oct 20, 2013
The republican base would be overjoyed. They will have succeeded in damaging the economy when Obama was President, and would be screaming for his impeachment.
New Kenya mall attack footage shows brutality, horror of assault
Thu Oct 17, 2013
Those that believe that an armed populace is safer, I'd invite you to live in Libya or Afghanistan or Pakistan. It is an NRA dreamworld. The arming by segments of our society is driven by the same hatred of blacks and other minorities that those from the confederate states harbored, and which has be …
Pakistani girl Malala Yousafzai meets Obamas at White House
Fri Oct 11, 2013
Pfirefly - Your comment doesn't amaze me in the least. You typify the mindset of the republican "base", characterized by mind numbing hatred borne out of generations of bigoted upbringing, combined with monumental ignorance. It must suck to be you.
'It's very good news' Malala didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize: Pakistani Taliban
Fri Oct 11, 2013
The Nobel committee made an excellent choice. While I believe that Malala deserves praise, the work that the inspectors have done is what such prizes should be for. Well done!
For Malala Yousufzai, a Nobel Prize could cap a remarkable year since Taliban shooting
Thu Oct 10, 2013
I have all the respect for this girls courage. However, I don't use it to demean someone else. By the way, Obama is to be lauded for authorizing the elimination of Taliban terrorists than any other leader in recent times, which to me a more practical approach to resisting terrorism.
Dozens die after boat sinks off Italy's coast; 'lots more' missing in sea
Thu Oct 3, 2013
Thatstgeway... You are critiquing someone who essentially has the same opinion as you. By the way, the words migrant and immigrant both convey the same meaning? i.e., movement by individuals over different regions or territories. The migration or immigration can be legal or illegal.
Mom in iconic photo kept little kids still for hours during Kenya mall siege
Tue Oct 1, 2013
Really - what a silly comment. If everyone were armed how would you know who were the "bad guys"? The fact that deranged individuals do exist in society is the reason why civilized society decided to prohibit the open carrying of weapons. I do agree that with the emergence of xenophobic and racist …
